Une fois de plus, chers lecteurs, laissez votre humble dévouée vous guider à travers le Melted Space. Quittons ce monde pour celui de la mythologie romaine, traversons le temps...
Nous sommes à présent devant le temple des Vestales, ces quatre vierges
dont la mission est de garder le feu sacré.
Ici demeure par la force Rhéa Sylvia, qui se fait visiter en songe par
le Dieu Mars de qui elle aura deux jumeaux, Remus et Romulus. Par la force oui,
car sa condition lui impose une totale chasteté et c'est ce que désire son
oncle Amulius, qui a détrôné le père de la vestale, Numitor.
Mais ayant eu vent de son accouchement de deux mâles, il condamne Rhéa
Sylvia qui sera emmurée vivante et ordonne que les nouveau-nés soient jetés
dans le Tibre. Mais cet ordre ne sera pas exécuté et les jumeaux seront placés
dans un panier, à la merci du courant du fleuve.
On dit que le panier fut guidé par le dieu Mars lui-même, jusqu'à
l'entrée de la grotte du Lupercal où se trouvait la tanière d'une louve...
Cette louve les aurait allaité et élevé jusqu'à ce qu'ils bâtissent la
grande cité de Rome, se vengeant de leur oncle par la suite, replaçant leur
grand-père sur le trône d'Albe.
L'introduction fut longue mais nécessaire, et pas forcément désagréable
pour les passionnés, car l'EP "Between"
traite tout du long de ces robustes Romus et Romulus, en proie à l'envie, à
l'égo, au meurtre.
Au menu, sept titres et trois titres bonus dont deux
acoustiques.
Pierre Le Pape, fondateur de l'entité Melted Space, demande notre attention avec quelques notes rappelant
d'anciens tambours de guerre, qui résonnent comme des coups de tonnerre. Dans
la continuité, une mélodie se fait douce, enivrante, finalement déchirante.
Première piste et déjà les frissons circulent sur l'échine.
Pour maintenir cet état sublime d'émotions, le deuxième titre intitulé Dying Legnd, brillamment interprété par
Liv Kristine (Leaves’ Eyes) qui
interprète la louve, conte l'inquiétude d'une mère pour ses enfants, qui se
meurent, avalée par la mort.
La Louve :
"What is this feeling ?
So cold, so dark...
Now i am afraid
I fear death and oblivion"
They Were Brothers tranche la douleur de
cette louve pour tourner notre regard vers un drame... Superbe transition de 41
secondes qui oriente nos âmes, du silencieux hurlement de la louve vers la rage
d'un Remus assassiné par son propre frère, Romulus. Ce dernier, interprété par
Black Messiah (Seth) est noir à
souhait. Remus, chanté par Emmanuel "El Worm" Levy (Wormfood), contraste avec majesté face
à la parfaite voix gutturale de son frère de chant. Mais la sienne n'est pas en
reste, à la fois tendre et délicieusement violente.
Remus :
"Who are you to challenge the gods ?
What remains of your reign there on this Earth"
Ces deux artistes interprètent donc avec brio ce Si
Vis Pacem..., qui sera suivi d'un ...Para Bellum en cinquième titre.
Beaucoup plus violent que le précédent, Romulus est une montagne inébranlable,
invincible, un monstre empli de fiel et de fierté persuadé que la mort de son
frère fut une nécessité pour Rome. Là encore, la voix de Emmanuel "El Worm"
Levy sait résonner admirablement bien, donnant à Remus la forme d'un radiant
fantôme recouvrant la conscience de son frère, Romulus.
Romulus :
"Be sure that i regret,
Be sure that i cry !
With all my soul,
I try to understand
Why are we here,
A place, cursed byt he gods
What is the meaning of my life ?
What is the meaning of your death ?"
Ces deux titres sont une réussite, selon moi,
une joute de chant, un combat de gammes sur fond de couleurs antiques. Des
ruisseaux de sang sinuent entre les mots autant qu'entre les notes.
The Man With Two Faces créé une trêve, un
repos mérité pour les habitants de ce monde. C'est ce que nous sommes nous,
spectateurs passifs touchés par la foudre des dieux. Et dans ce titre, il
d'agît de la musicale présentation de Janus, Dieu de premier rang dans la
mythologie romaine. On le représentait avec deux visages car il avait le
pouvoir de commander à plusieurs éléments, dont la terre et le ciel.
Doucement arrive Welcome To This World,
dernier titre de l'EP. C'est une guitare électrique qui déploie un
tapis musical pour la voix d'Ashmedi (Melechesh)
dans le rôle de Janus. La boucle se boucle, nous revenons vers la Louve passant
de vie à trépas, à qui Janus s'adresse.
Janus :
"Rise !
Become a spirit.
Leave this world
And embrace your eternity.
Come !
You're no longer part of them
Join those that are no more than ideas"

La force de son chant sied à merveille à
l'aura de Janus. Ce titre est un bijou également, l'interprétation est royale,
notre imagination sait faire le reste...
Et dans la distribution, l'intuition de
Pierre Le Pape fut des meilleures. Cela nous est rappelé grâce aux trois bonus
de l'EP où la voix de Manuel Munoz (The
Old Dead Tree) sait être la clé de cet univers. Toujours et selon moi, j'y
trouve une sensibilité digne de la délicatesse de Pierre Le Pape.
Je ne saurai m'étaler plus sur ces trois versions acoustiques, titres du précédent album, qui sont tout à fait grandioses et d'une majesté sans borne. On s'y abreuve après l'écoute de l'EP comme pour étancher une soif de douceur. Les variations de la voix de Manuel Munoz sont d'une telle légèreté qu'on y noierait volontiers son âme entière.
J'aimerai surtout insister sur l'aura artistique de cet EP, aussi de ce monde qu'est Melted Space, entièrement créé par Pierre Le Pape qui s'est tout simplement servit dans les mythologies de notre propre monde.
Mais ce n'est pas un mal au final. Si je suis adepte des mondes neufs, je dois dire que sa musique est d'une nouveauté surprenante pour moi. C'est un véritable opéra pour le metal, et lorsque les cordes des violons s'en mêlent, la symphonie est prenante, bouleversante. On imagine à peine combien le compositeur a aimé donner vie à de l'authentique et retranscrire, par son talent, la beauté de ses rêves.
Pierre Le Pape est un artiste qui a offert à d'autres artistes d'éprouver leur sensibilité sur sa musique. Les alliages ont donné un metal pur. De la forge musicales est aussi sorti cet EP qui, s'il est moins violent que son prédécesseur "From The Past", a su conquérir les cœurs et récolter les frissons comme Janus sait encore récolter les esprits des mortels, là-bas, dans le Melted Space.

One more time, dear readers, let your humble devoted guides you through a Melted Space. Let’s leave this world for another made of roman mythology, let us cross the time…
Here we are, in front of the Vestals temple, the four virgins whose mission is to protect the sacred fire.
Here lives held by the strengh Rhaa Sylvia, who received, into her
dreams, the god Mars of whom she will gave birth to two twins, Remus and
Romulus. Held by the strengh yes, for her condition impose to her a total
chastity and this is what her uncle Amulius wants, who dethroned the vestal’s
father, Numitor.
But when he heard the birth of two males, he condemn Rhea Sylvia to be
immured living being and order the kill of the new borns by throw them in the Tibre.
But this order will never be execute and the two twins will be placed into a basket,
at the mercy of the current of the river.
Some says that the basket was guided by the god Mars himself, up to the
entry of the Lupercal where when the den of a she-wolf…
The she-wolf would have breast-fed and raised them until they build le
city of Rome, taking revenge on their uncle afterward, replacing their
grandfather on Albe’s throne.
The introduction was long but not necessarily unpleasant for the enthusiasts, because the EP "Between" deals all the way with these strong Remus and Romulus, in the grip of the envy, ego and murder.
On the menu, seven titles and three titles bonuses among which two
acoustics.
To sublimate this state of feelings, the second title Dying Legnd, splenidly interpreted by Liv
Kristine (Leaves’ Eyes) who
interprets the She-wolf, tells the concern of a mother for her children, who
are dying, swallowed by the death.
She-wolf :
"What is this feeling ?
So cold, so dark...
Now i am afraid
I fear death and oblivion"
They Were Brothers breaks the pain of this She-wolf to turn our look
to a drama... Magnificent transition of 41 seconds which directs our souls,
from the silencer roaring of the she-wolf towards the fury of Remus murdered by
his own brother, Romulus. The last one, interpreted by Black Messiah (Seth) is dark as one pleases. Remus, singed
by Emmanuel "El Worm" Levy (Wormfood),
contrast with majesty in front of the perfect guttural voice of his brother of
singing. But his is not outdone, at the same time soft and charmingly violent.
Remus :
"Who are you to challenge the gods ?
What remains of your reign there on this Earth"
These two artists thus interpret brilliantly
this Si Vis Pacem..., who will be followed by a ...Para Bellum in
the fifth title. More violent than the last one, Romulus in an unwavering
mountain, invincible, a monster filled with gall and with pride persuaded that
the death of his brother was a necessity for Rome. Here again, the voice of Emmanuel
"El Worm" Levy knows how to resound admirably well, giving to Remus
the shape of a radiant ghost recovering the consciousness of his brother,
Romulus.
Romulus :
"Be sure that i regret,
Be sure that i cry !
With all my soul,
I try to understand
Why are we here,
A place, cursed byt he gods
What is the meaning of my life ?
What is the meaning of your death ?"
These two titles are a success, according to
me, a joust of singing, a fight of ranges on the background of antique colors. Trickles
of blood twist between the words as much as between the notes.
The Man With Two Faces create a truce, a rest deserved for the
inhabitants of this world. This is what we are, passive spectators touched by
the lightning of the gods. And in this title, it’s about a musical Janus's
presentation, God of first rank in the Roman mythology. We used to represented
him with two faces because he had the power to command several elements, among
which the ground and the sky.
Slowly arrives Welcome To This World, last
title of the EP. It is an electric guitar which spreads a musical carpet with the
voice of Ashmedi (Melechesh) in
Janus's role. The buckle chokes up, we return towards the passing of She-wolf, whom
Janus addresses.
Janus :
"Rise !

The strength of his singing goes marvelously
to Janus's aura. This title is a jewel also, the performance is royal, our
imagination knows how to make the rest...
And in the casting, Pierre Le Pape's
intuition was the best. It is reminded to us thanks to three bonuses of the EP
where the voice of Manuel Munoz (The Old
Dead Tree) knows how to be the key of this universe. Le Pape. Always and
according to me, I find there a sensibility deserving Pierre Le Pape's
delicacy.
I shall not know how to spread out any more on these three acoustic versions, titles from the previous album, which are completely grand and of majesty without border. We drink after the listening of the EP as to seal a thirst of sweetness. The variations of the voice of Manuel Munoz are a such lightness that we would flood there gladly our whole soul.
I shall especially like insisting on the artistic aura of this EP, however of this world is Melted Space, completely created by Pierre Le Pape who is simply served in the mythologies of our own world.
But it is not so bad in final. If I am a follower of the new worlds, I have to say that his music is of a surprising novelty for me. It is a real opera for the metal, and when the ropes of violins get involved in it, the symphony is fascinating, deeply moving. We hardly imagine how much the composer liked giving life to the authentic and retranscribing, by his talent, the beauty of his dreams.
Pierre Le Pape is an artist who offered to other artists to experience their sensibility on his music. Alloys gave a pure metal. From the musical forge also went out this EP which, if it is less violent than its predecessor « From The Past », knew how to win heart and to collect the shivers as Janus knows again how to collect the spirits of the mortal, over there, in melted space.
