Nhor sera le premier groupe à venir fouler la Balver Höhle,
et ce pour une occasion exceptionnelle car il s’agira de leur toute première prestation
mondiale !
Né en
2009, le projet Nhor se caractérise
par son univers onirique, fortement implanté dans une dimension païenne. En
termes de genre, le groupe exprime des sphères allant de la musique
atmosphérique au black métal le plus pur. Avec quatre opus au compteur, le
dernier effort du groupe est l’EP "Wildflowers:
Spring", paru le 12 avril dernier sur Prophecy.

Pour la
toute première fois au Prophecy Fest, les cultes Soror Dolorosa vont nous délivrer un concert exceptionnel. En
premier lieu nous aurons la chance d’entendre quelques titres issus du
troisième et nouvel opus du groupe, "Apollo".
En second lieu, Soror Dolorosa
interprètera en intégralité "Severance",
son premier EP désormais culte lui aussi. Ces deux points sont une première
dans la carrière du groupe.
Soror Dolorosa est un
groupe de rock gothique/cold wave né en 2001 et possède à son actif deux albums
et un EP qui auront su marquer les esprits avec un univers à la fois noir,
mélancolique, érotique parfois, mais toujours énergique et classieux. Le nouvel
opus "Apollo" – à paraitre
très prochainement sur Prophecy avec son lot de surprises – saura démontrer
l’étendue créative du groupe, refusant de s’enfermer dans quelconque barrière.
De plus, Soror Dolorosa sait donner
encore plus de corps à ses compositions sur scène, transcendant ce qui semblait
déjà l’être : vous êtes prévenus !

Sun of the Sleepless
proposera le second concert de toute sa carrière depuis 1999, soit un événement
unique !
Sun of the Sleepless est le
projet black métal atmosphérique et expérimental de Markus Stock (aka
Schwadorf), co-leader d’Empyrium et The Vision Bleak, ainsi qu’illustre
producteur d’une infinité d’excellents projets. Bien que formé en 1998, le
premier album du groupe verra le jour le 21 juillet prochain via Prophecy et
s’intitule "To the Elements".
Le même jour paraitra également "Shadows
of the Past", compilation regroupant les premiers travaux du groupe allant
de 1998 à 2004 (remasterisés pour l’occasion).

Les
Norvégiens d’Arcturus se produiront
pour la toute première fois au Prophecy Fest cette année !
Après
leur split d’avril 2007, Arcturus a
livré le 8 mai 2015 leur cinquième opus (et toute première réalisation signée sur
Prophecy) : "Arcturian".
Toujours bien à part dans le métal norvégien, cette nouvelle œuvre enfonce le
clou de l’avant-gardisme arcturien, à la jonction entre musiques progressive et
extrême, tout comme entre ombre et lumière.

GlerAkur nous fera le plaisir de
jouer pour la seconde fois au Prophecy Fest, après la forte impression laissée
l’année passée.
GlerAkur est le projet solo du musicien islandais Elvar
Geir Sævarsson, parallèlement ingénieur du son au Theatre National d’Islande. Créant de véritables paysages sonores,
la première œuvre fut l’EP "Can’t You
Wait", dont la sortie a coïncidé avec la prestation du Prophecy Fest
2016. Le 21 juillet prochain va paraitre un tout premier album nommé "The Mountains are Beautiful Now"
(toujours sous la houlette de Prophecy), dont nous serons gratifiés une semaine
plus tard à la Balver Höhle…

Sólstafir viendra pour la toute
première fois à la Balver Höhle !
Nous ne
présentons plus le groupe islandais Sólstafir,
né en 1995. Le dernier opus "Berdreyminn"
est paru le 26 mai dernier via Season of Mist. Fin juillet l’occasion vous sera
donnée de voir le groupe dans un cadre plus confidentiel qu’à l’accoutumée,
atmosphère tout à fait adaptée à l’univers développé par le groupe.

duo originaire de San Francisco, combinant post-black métal, space rock et
musique ambient. Leur second opus "Gramarye"

The Moon And The Nightspirit
présentera un line-up exceptionnel cette année au Prophecy Fest, agrémentés
d’un harpiste/pianiste ainsi qu’un flutiste. De plus, certains titres joués ce
soir-là seront totalement inédits.
The Moon And The Nightspirit est un
duo hongrois né en 2003, présentant une musique que certains nommeraient world mais que nous préférons dénommer
comme païenne, ancrée dans les légendes et le folklore. Le 17 mars dernier le
groupe a présenté son nouvel opus intitulé "Metanoia", via Prophecy.

Les
Italiens de Spiritual Front vont
délivrer cette année un set spécial intitulé "Armageddon Gigolo", en référence à leur opus de 2006.
Spiritual Front
développe ce qu’ils nomment une « nihilist
suicide pop », style à la croisée des genres, le tout avec une pointe
d’expérimentation. Le groupe a participé à de nombreux projets comme le film Saw II ou encore la série Las Vegas.

NOÊTA va interpréter son tout
premier concert en dehors de Scandinavie, tout spécialement pour le Prophecy
Fest !
NOÊTA est un duo suédois
pratiquant ce qu’ils nomment « anti-normative
black ambient ». Contemplative dans sa forme, leur musique inspire au
mystère et à l’introspection, faisant des allers et retours entre ombre et
lumière. Leur poésie mise en musique s’est incarnée le 17 février dernier au
sein de leur premier opus, "Beyond
Life and Death", bien entendu via Prophecy.

Dornenreich va
délivrer un set entièrement acoustique, allant piocher dans chaque réalisation
du groupe, y compris la démo "Mein
Flügelschlag".
Dornenreich est un
groupe qui s’affranchit des genres, entre black métal et musique folk. Leur
dernier opus "Freiheit"
date de 2014 et fut édité par Prophecy.

donnera cette année une prestation d’exception, accompagné par Shadow Philharmonics, ensemble de
cordes, percussions et vocaux !
The Vision Bleak n’est
autre que le projet métal gothique de Schwadorf (Empyrium, Sun of the
Sleepless) et Konstanz (Ewigheim, Empyrium en live). Le dernier et sixième opus
est paru l’année dernière sur Prophecy et s’intitule "The Unknown".

Hexvessel est un groupe finlandais
de « psychedelic forest folk rock » :

Hypnopazuzu sera
le groupe de clôture de cette édition 2017 du Prophecy Fest, et donnera son
tout premier concert en Allemagne !
Hypnopazuzu n’est
autre que le nouveau projet de David Tibet (Current 93) et Youth (Killing Joke).
Leur opus s’intitule "Create Christ,
Sailor Boy" et est paru l’année dernière via House of Mythology.

Nhor will be the first band to beat the stage at the Balver
Höhle, for a special occasion because it’ll be its very first show!
Born
in 2009, Nhor is characterized by a
dreamlike world, set up in a pagan dimension. Talking about genres, the band
expresses spheres going from atmospheric music to pure black metal. With four
albums, the last band’s effort is the EP "Wildflowers: Spring", published on the last 12th of
April by Prophecy.

For
the very first time at Prophecy Fest, cult Soror
Dolorosa will deliver an exceptional show. First, we’ll be lucky to hear
some songs from the third and new album of the band, "Apollo". Secondly, Soror
Dolorosa will play "Severance"
in its entirety, first and cult EP. These two points are unique in the band’s career.
Soror
Dolorosa is a gothic rock/cold
wave band born in 2001, and has two albums and one EP that made huge impression
on the dark musical world… both dark, melancholic, erotic sometimes, but always
energetic and class. The new album "Apollo"
– to be published soon on Prophecy with lots of surprises – will demonstrate
the creative area of the band, refusing all boundaries. Furthermore, Soror Dolorosa knows how to give body
to their compositions live on stage, transcending what was already transcended:
you guys are worn!

Sun of
the Sleepless will give the
second show of its career since 1999, a unique event!
Sun of
the Sleepless is the solo
atmospheric/experimental black metal project of Markus Stock (aka Schwadorf), co-leader
of Empyrium and The Vision Bleak, as well as being an excellent producer. Born
in 1998, its first album will see the light of day on the 21th of July through
Prophecy and is called "To the
Elements". The same day will be released the "Shadows of the Past" compilation,
gathering the early works the band from 1998 to 2004 (remastered in fact).

The
Norwegian people from Arcturus will
play its first show at Prophecy Fest this year!
After
their split of April 2007, Arcturus
delivered on the 8th of May 2015 their fifth album (and very first
signed on Prophecy): "Arcturian".
Apart from what we can hear within Norwegian metal, this new work put the boot
in arcturian avant-gardism, junction point between progressive and extreme
music, as well as between dark and light.

GlerAkur will play for the second time
at Prophecy Fest, after strong impression left last year.
GlerAkur is the solo project from Icelandic musician Elvar Geir Sævarsson, sound
engineer at the Theatre National of
Iceland. Creating whole sound landscapes, the first work was the "Can’t You Wait" EP, published
during Prophecy Fest 2016. The 21th of July will be released the first album "The Mountains are Beautiful Now"
(always through Prophecy), that we’ll hear one week later inside the Balver Höhle…

Sólstafir will come for the first
time inside the Balver Höhle!
No
need presenting the Icelandic band Sólstafir,
born in 1995. The last album "Berdreyminn"
has been published the last 26th of May through Season of Mist. In the end of
July you’ll see the band in excellent conditions to appreciate their music, in
a pretty confidential location that suits perfectly to the band.

Lotus Thief is a duet coming from San

line up at Prophecy Fest, livened up by two musicians, a harpist/pianist also
as a flautist. Furthermore, some songs played will be totally unreleased.
The Moon And The
Nightspirit is
a Hungarian duet born in 2003, with a music that can be called world but we rather call it pagan,
rooted into legends and folklore. On the last 17th of May the band
presented its new album called "Metanoia",
on Prophecy.

Italian
people from Spiritual Front will
give this year a special set called "Armageddon
Gigolo", in reference to its 2006 album.
Spiritual Front creates what they call « nihilist suicide pop », at

outside of Scandinavia, especially for Prophecy Fest!
NOÊTA is a Swedish duet playing
what they call « anti-normative
black ambient ». Contemplative in its form, their music takes
inspiration from mystery and introspection, doing some two-way movement between
dark and light. Their poetry delivered into music has been incarnated the 17th
of February within its first album, "Beyond
Life and Death", of course by Prophecy.

Dornenreich is a band that frees
